Aluminess tire carrier and box

How far back from the Ford van doors does an Aluminess Tire Carrier and Galley Box extend? Tire size would be 265/75/16. When I go fishing I tow a bass boat. The end of the trailer tongue to the tip of the boat is 30 inches. Would the tire carrier or galley box get in the way of trailer maneuverability? I have a regular bumper and I think the trailer hitch is class 3.

You'll be fine. I've towed many boats with mine, never a problem. The boxes don't stick out as far as they seem, especially in relation to where the hitch protrudes from the bumper.

You can always get an extended stinger. My dad uses one so he can open his suburban back door when the trailer is attached.

Re: Aluminess tire carrier and box

Kenny from Aluminess sent me this pic with measurements when I was inquiring about how far the rear bumper, box size, and bike rack extended from the van body. In my case for a custom car cover and bike rack but it might be of interest to the OP. If you do need an extender the Blue Ox drop receivers and extenders are burly. http://www.hitchsource.com/drop-receive ... 9_238.html

Hey that's my van, JoeH! I didn't recognize it because it's so dirty now.
