AR Mojave Teflon Recall?

Someone mentioned at the SoCal Meet and Greet that the mojave's are cracking around the lug nut area and there's a recall?

Any truth to this? Batch #?

Im about to order these wheels and would like to head this problem off at the pass.

thanks guys

I'm not sure about the Mojave, but I received a note from SMB West regarding the same issues with the American Eagle 186's. They didn't call it an official recall however, they suggested to visit the nearest America's Tire store to have it checked. I still have to call SMB to confirm.

Send a message via AIM to Skywagon
AR Mojave

I believe that the recall applies to the powder coated Eagle rims that SMB was using. I just picked up my new Sportsmobile last week and we used the American Racing Mojave Teflon coated black wheels just to avoid the Eagles which SMB will no longer provide.

Sounds good guys. I just wanted to make sure. I just talked to the western regional manager of 4 wheel parts and they are unaware of such recall also.

Note: Just found out that American Racing was sold to Wheel Pros. Now all the AR wheels will come from China. Get ready for crappy quality coming soon IMHO.

Garage
Not everything from China is crappy. You just don't hear stories about the good stuff.
