Best New Seats or Covers?

OK I know seats, like rims and tires are subjective and probably been have been covered before but I have a few questions for you anyway.

What I want to know is what have you found to be a comfortable front seat for travel?

My van 2008 being the last year before the new seats has very long bottom cushions something that neither of us like very much. Other than that the factory cloth captains chairs are not too bad. Maybe a different bottom cushion and some reshaping and new upholstery they would be perfect.

I have been thinking about buying some new take out 2009-2012 seats and having them redone. Since our cars have leather we are leaning towards that. Or maybe part leather part cloth.

Does anyone know who does the leather Sportsmobiles seats?

They look like recovered Ford seats but could be something else.

Does anyone know of a good upholstery shop in the SF bay area?

How upholstery kits?
I have found a few places online that sell complete interior kits for window vans but they don't sell just front seat kits otherwise I would do that.

How about aftermarket seats anyone know for sure what ones are well made and comfortable?

I installed a set of the C-5 style seats but in leather from here

in a friends van last year and while they look nice we did not think they were very comfortable, he thinks they are OK but nothing great.

As always any tips or advice would be great... Thanks in advance...

...Jamie

Not an answer to all your questions but this might help.

Re: Best New Seats or Covers?

Jaime,

These don't come up very often. Driver seat is power. Could be leather but it doesn't say and I can't tell by looking at the picts. Some wear and not in pristine shape.

Hope this helps™,

Re: Best New Seats or Covers?

Jaime,

Embroidered "Econoline" logo comes from the XLT Premium Package which says has leather-trimmed captain's chairs. This package was only available on the E150 XLT in 2011. So, could be leather.

Hope this helps™,

Re: Best New Seats or Covers?

Thanks Ray...I must have missed them somehow...Thats exactly what I was looking for something like that...

The only ones I have seen lately on ebay are the ones that just had the foam, no covers thats why I was asking about the covers and the upholstery shops.

I like and wanted the factory Ford power seat because the power seat has lumbar built in. Too bad the other side doesnt have at least lumbar. If she needs it we can add that.

If Suzann likes them we will get them, I will add seat heaters to them and see how they go.

The only disadvantage to them is what I can find out there are no swivel bases available for the factory power seat and we wanted too have both of them swivel. I guess one would be better then none but I might just build one or both of them.
