As I thought this through more I am now considering a sprinter. I like the transits but the lack of factory 4x4 pushes me away.

Keep in mind the Sprinter walls arch in as they near the roof--not as much as an E-Series, but more than a Transit. And on a Sprinter if you're 6', you can't sleep transversely (left-right) without adding the Flarespace flares (whereas on a Transit you can do so without flares as the interior walls are wider apart).

Fortunately, we are all short (5'8" or less) so width isn't a huge concern. Honestly, I'm not much of a fan of the aesthetics of the Transit, but would happily look beyond that if they had a factory 4x4 option.
