DMV registration in Nevada, good news!!

Hey just thought I should share this info.... In the state of Nevada if you purchase a vehicle from a private party you do not have to pay sales tax at the DMV. This law changed in 2006. I don't know that it holds true in other states. This saved us a big chunk of change. We can do some upgrades to our (new to us) SMB purchase.

Re: DMV registration in Nevada, good news!!

That is currently correct for Nevada. Dealerships are crying to the state about that. It really hurts them with their used car sales. I heard that Nevada, instead of allowing them to sell used vehicles sales tax free, is considering putting sales tax back on all used vehicles. Amazing what red ink budgets will do to legislative thinking. And yes, we saved a bundle when we purchased our used Sportsmobile two years ago. oclv
