Do sand ladders and SMB's play well together?

I got the idea that a pair of poly-reinforced 'waffleboard' sand ladders would also make for a great floor for an outdoor shower. An upscale shower is essential if my favorite cook will be coming along.

I doubt they're strong enough for a van to traverse if suspended on both sides, but am curious if anyone has any experience with them under a van or heavier vehicle?

I use Marston Mat to traverse the soft stuff when needed. I would not use any of the sand mat type products to span a gap as they are designed to reduce ground pressure not actually support the weight of the vechicle.
You will see Marston Mat on all the Camel Trophy Trucks.

It comes in 10" lengths but I cut mine down to 6'

For Bridging I would recommend this: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/kraz-255-TMM-...itary_Vehicles

Re: Do sand ladders and SMB's play well together?

I purchased 2 48"x12"x2" fiberglass waffle boards from(http://www.amgrating.com/). I plan to use them for an outdoor shower floor, and possible a table top. I may also stow them behind my rear passenger seat in a way that the two create a shelf for storing travel gear.

I also can think of a few times where having a ramp could have been a good thing. Not wanting to get surprised in the field, I rolled up on one with one front tire in my side yard yesterday.

I dont have all the weight of a full-blown SMB but was pleased to see how well they held up here. I figure the span is 38".

After shipping, the 2 costs $200. A bit pricey but Colin at American Grating made the buy easy. At my door front 48 hrs later.
