Ok guys. I have an 08 e150. I'm having trouble with dry rotted latch cables. I've searched the posts, I've done the YouTube search. And I've jacked up two sets of those silver tube things. (Oh and I broke the inside handle by not removing the retainer clip)...that was a $60 ooops!
So my question is. Where is the cheapest place to buy the latch cable and the latch already together?
I’ve found the cheapest ones on eBay. That said, they ranged from $40-75. I consider that cheap based on how much I use the doors and how well they work. They were genuine ford pieces.
Dorman makes decent and affordable Ford door cables---I found mine through RockAuto.com. The advantage to that brand is just the cables are available--many of the Ford offerings include the latches or handles which are not needed and add a bit too much to the cost.
I like the Ford parts as they're good quality but depending how often you use your rear/side doors tends to dictate which choice you make.
