E350 7.3 for sale, good buy for 4wd conversion?

Ill add the link below. I went to see her the other day and she seems to have good bones, a little surface rust underneath but the bodyworks mint for a 95.
Transmissions leaking a bit of oil so im having a full inspection done tomorrow.

Just after some advice from people that have done this sort of conversion before, its going to cost probably over $30k to build her how I want. Do you think its got potential?

I think im already sold on it pending the inspection but keen for any opinions.

Cheers

Does that equate to $6,800 in USD? And the mileage, I'd be hypocritical to say don't buy a van with high mileage (180k miles isnt much) but at that price, heck no.
Age is also up there...
I think you can do mych better at the price and lower too.
Just because its local, doesn't make it good. I've traveled halfway across the country to buy all sorts of vehicles lol.

To be honest its not that bad a price for Canada, not that much to choose from up here unfortunately.
Im keen on getting the 7.3 engine too, and clean ones are few and far between.
You are certainly right about it being local, and the first ive actually been to see in the flesh. Hmmm, maybe he's asking a bit much then.

Did the 95 vans come with the powerstroke or IDI 7.3?

This is the IDI first year for the powerstroke was 1997... so since this is the IDI I think it's worth less but it will run forever, you won't get any where fast but It will go a million miles no problem and less maintenance that the 7.3l PSD.

Thanks MSD
I appreciate all the help from you guys, im a noob when it comes to these big north american engines. So just to confirm, this is definitely the turbo version of the IDI engine as ive been to see it and drove the van. It certainly didn't feel gutless to me! I just read they introduced a (factory) turbo to this engine late 93.

Well I guess ill see what the inspection brings tomorrow.

Have you driven a 7.3L PSD? I think you'd notice the difference. You'll also notice a vast difference if you convert to 4x4. That being said this is still a great rig and a very trusted platform IMHO. There was a forum member on here that had a converted 4x4 Quigley with the IDI. I thought long and hard about buying it. But you can only have so many projects. Looking forward to hearing about the inspection.

No, the 94-97 7.3 are powerstrokes, not the slow IDI 7.3 from earlier.

First gen, a bit slower than the 99-03 ones, but still a great motor. Don’t ask me about exact differences, but one is the fueling...

I stand corrected, thought for sure I bought a first Gen PSD in 97, guess not... Oops.
