Electric Penthouse not fully raising

Hey guys,
New member and owner of a 1990 E250 that is a dream. Traveling with friends who have a 2001 SMB electric penthouse that is not going to full extension. They do have a rack, solar panels and Thule box. Is it the weight that is not letting it go fully up? It seems to be about 4 short. Any ideas??

I attached a pic. Mine is on the right and the problem top is on the left.

My guess is the bars are bent

I agree with Goose... we have consistently raised two sea kayaks full of gear with our electric top with no issues. Weight should not be the problem.

Agree and disagree. It's not that the electric motor is unable to lift the extra weight, but the extra weight probably bent the bars. There may not be too much weight on it now, but at one point there was.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will take a look at the bars. Can you have them straightened? We are currently waiting for a new 1356 transfer case. Shift fork broke inside the case. Horrible grinding sound. Remain being installed now.
