Extension for sliding door to clear larger tires

Met a guy who cant get his slider past the larger tires. Is it QuadVans that makes an adapter or extension for the sliding door to clear larger tires ? Is there a link? or thread here?

Last I heard they wouldn't sell it. Maybe you have to drive there for installation.

Correct. QuadVan makes and installs it, but will not sell as a kit last I heard.

Re: Extension for sliding door to clear larger tires

Hi;

A friend of mine who was into vans in the 70's told me that an extension for the rear sliding door to clear larger tires was quite a common addition. Essentially the longer rod pushed the door out on an angle to clear the rear baloneys.

Of course he has no idea where to get one today.

Edit: This photo looks like the right idea-

GOOGLE of course has- http://www.bkauto.net/ateamadditionalparts.htm

I'm sure this information was less than helpful, but I couldn't resist throwing out my two cents.

Regards,

Gavin

Re: Extension for sliding door to clear larger tires

The design changed in 92 with the vans, and the new hinge is much more complex.
