extreme air faulty

Got the SMB out of wintere storage and doing the shakedown. A non- working extreme air compressor. My dash switch w/ the iluminator is lighting up but thats it. I think for starters I will pull the ground wire at the unit and clean up the surface and retighten. does anyone know where the fuse is for the unit?

Re: extreme air faulty

As "well duh" as this may sound, when I was in Death Valley last year and went to help another traveler that had a low tire I flipped the ExtremeAir switch and nothing happened. I must have spent about a half hour messing with the wiring and nothing. I was with Mr. Thwaites so he helped out the other traveler with his compressor.

While 4wheeling that day I had an "ah ha" moment, stopped and plugged in the air hose. Sure enough, the system was still pressurized and that is why the compressor didn't kick on. It had been a very long time since I last used it and was very surprised the system was still at pressure.

Probably not your problem, but worth checking out.

Re: extreme air faulty

PJPVI thats a funny story, yes unreal that it held pressure! thanks to all for the threads. The picture helped confirm that this was indeed a circuit breaker. I cycled it a couple of times and rotated the neg. side connection to chk for corrosion and then it worked. Now that I know this isolation breaker is there it will become a checklist item to turn off in the winter, just like the water drain procedure. If I get electrical spikes, surges etc, while on shore power in the winter the extreme air won't be part of it!
