Ford Shop Manuals

If anyone is interested in ordering manuals for thier ford van the number for the publisher is 1-800-782-4356. I just ordered all the manuals for my van. They come in 3 volumes. Shop manual, Code Book, and Wiring Diagrams. Alltogether they were just a little under 300.00 for all 3 books. Even if you don't work on your van they might come in handy to someone else if you break down in a remote area. The manuals are not sold thru the dealer.

I've been thinking about ordering a shop manual for my rig. Do they make Chilton/Haynes books for E-350 diesels? I know they are pretty broad but I still think they make a good reference. I ordered a shop manual for my Diesel Mercedes on CD-ROM for $20. Are these available for E-350's as well?

I did'nt even ask about CD. IMHO haynes/chilton consumer series are not worth the 20.00. I have BMW, Merecedes, Porsche and others on CD. I also have Alldata subscribtion which is online. I must say that even though I generally embrace new technology when actually working on a car the book is easier to use. Let us know if they offer a CD. Thanks, Seth

Thanks I will keep it in mind.

Last weekend I was going to subscribe to Alldata for a year to see how they are but they don't list information for the 2008 model year yet. They said they would have it in Feb '09.

Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about Alldata ?

You can frequently find the shop manuals on eBay for a lot less.

A quick search for E350 Manual turned up sets from 2002, 2004-2007 for under $100 a set.

You can try other searches for E-Series Manual, Shop Manual, Service Manual, etc.

Found these:

I wonder how similar a 2002 E350 is similar to a 2000 E350. Hmmm...

I have gotten out of the habit of looking on Ebay. Thanks for the idea. I'm going to call first thing tomorrow and cancel my oreder for the new set. I bet that we will see lots of dealer stuff available soon for cheap as they start to go under.

A little off topic, but if anyone has the wiring schematic for the heating / air conditioning control rotary switches I would sure love a scanned copy. Ever since the first trip in our diesel, I've wanted to wire a switch that would route the A/C to the floor vents to help with the intense heat that comes through on those long hot uphills.

Anyone out there try this? Perhaps a new thread is in need.

Mine is a 2005 6.0 PSD.

Thanks -
Phil

Garage
Bronco Hauler has a post somewhere here on a device that helps keep the heat down. If I find it I will post the link or maybe he will chime in here.
