4WD, big tires, solar panels and roof racks make up the low end of the numbers for Econolines, and the sprinter low end is V6 4WD and the high end is 4 cyl.

gas milage
My E350 with 5.4L engine gets about 15 mpg although the dashboard read out claims I'm getting 16. Of course the way you drive, where you drive, and the amount of gear you put on top will all affect your mpg.

My 6.0 seems to get 15+, even on 35's with 4x4, etc.
I had a 5.4 on 33's, 2x, and I seemed to be in the 10 mpg range most of the time.

My 2002 E350 extended body gets between 12.5 and 13 on paved roads.

1,900 all highway miles in a brand new 2018 Sprinter 4x4 V6 144HT
avg 16.1 mpg hand calculated, completely empty and bone stock inside and outside.
60 to 75 mph most of the time between NY and Denver on I-70
Our 2002 7.3 4x4 and pop top with all kinds of stuff - 14 to 15 mpg mostly hwy, city. whatever.
Our 2003 V10 4x4 stock body / light build but lifted and 265/16 tires 13.7 to 14.9 mpg hwy. could be as low as 11 around town.
I have decided having one of these is not about fuel mileage. LOL!

With a good sized lift and 33.5" AT tires, I have to be pretty careful to get close to 12mpg out of my v10, but it is possible. It's easier with a small trailer on the back, likely because that limits me to 55mph and more congested lanes.
More typically I'll see 9.5-10.5 moving on the faster end of CA traffic.
Low range will also burn more fuel. Enough so that I'll occasionally toss an extra 5 gallon jerry can on the roof, if I know I'll be on some longer trails before getting back to a gas station.
