Glue or tape or ?

The alarm antenna came off the windshield and I don't know what to put it back with... glue? tape? it's got to withstand sun and heat of course.

Also the Chili Dog was mounted to the shelf front, which is vinyl I guess, and the glue in the velcro didn't last a week- now I've got a 4x3" patch of glue on the shelf and the chili dog is hanging by its cord. Anyone have suggestions for reattaching?

Well no guarantees on it sticking to vinyl but the velcro you want is the stuff labeled "industrial strength". It holds up to the AZ heat a thousand times better than the regular stuff.

You can also get the really heavy duty double sided tape, some of it is even rated for outdoors use. I used some of the heavy duty tape (ace hardware brand) to "test" mount my rear view camera on the back of my van before i drilled holes in my rear door for a permanent mount. It's now been on there for a year, been through an AZ summer, been snowed on, rained on, hundreds of miles of washboard roads ... hasn't moved one bit! Needless to say I'm in no hurry to drill those holes lol

If you wanted to go with glue you could always use the glue they have for mounting rear view mirrors, should be able to pick that up at any auto parts store.

Might just be a SMB n00b question, but "Chili Dog?"

Yeah I said the same thing. Apparently the previous owner never used it either, but it senses temps in the van and will start the engine if the van exceeds a previously set temp, so you leave the AC or heat on to keep your pets healthy.

It's quite possible it is CHILLY dog but the used ad from SMB had Chili Dog so I've always spelled it that way.

the newer compustar remote starters also have this functionality, but it wasn't set up correctly when I picked up my van. While it's down there I'm having Rob replace the compustar with the newer one (that I thought I was getting to begin with) that has a 6000 foot range etc and one of the things I mentioned specifically was the thermo trigger setup, which once programmed can be enabled/disabled via the key fob.
