Hi from Montreal, Quebec. :-) New member

Just wanted to present myself and say hi to a great community.

I just bought a 2001 SMB 2WD, E350 and very happy with it.

Going to travel for a month with my wife from Montreal to the west coast.

Very proud of having the only one "I think?" in Quebec that is an original SMB.

Drooling about a 4x4 conversion already but I have another toy that is a kind of a money pit so that will wait from now.

Take care and hope to share good times here.

Ps: Sorry for my english cough cough..... those frenchy's can't write... :-)

I bet you set that other "money pit" aside, and go to work full-time on your van, just like the rest of us.

Nice.

I did the Trans Canada once, but going west to east, ending in Nova Scotia. Was planning to make it to Newfoundland, but ran out of time (about 6 weeks) and ended up taking the ferry to Bar Harbor ME and flying back from Manchester. Didn't have the SMB then, but it was one of the reasons I bought one.

I think it would be even more fun east to west; makes you feel more like a pioneer or Alexander MacKenzie, although I don't think you can drive much of his route, even with 4WD . The nice thing doing it north of the US border is that the road doesn't have much freeway, once you get a bit west, and so is way more fun to drive. I've been meaning to do it again one of these days, and this time make it all the way to Newfoundland. And spend more time in Québec, esp. up north.

Glad to see another Canadian . Did you buy it from the states or already in Canada? If bought from U.S. I to am interested in how this got past customs and RIV.
Welcome!
