How heavy is it?

I'm not saying our van is heavy, but both front wheels on the tow truck were off the ground. He stopped and called his boss for advice. Finally, he put the bar that goes under the front of a vehicle onto the ground and down for stability. Then it took about 5 tries to get the bed and van to move forward enough to get the fronts down.

When he off loaded us he put that tailhook down first and no problem.

I told CAA the van was 10,000#, and the tow was rated for that but it was interesting.

Clearly operator error. I have pulled a 12,500# wrecker onto an F650 flatbed without issue. It's amazing how many tow operators have no idea what they are doing.

P.S. What happened that required you to be towed?

I had an injector go out. It seems the internal seal failed when the ceramic broke. That allowed cylinder pressure to push into the fuel rail and push fuel back. First #1 quit, then #3 followed by #5. By then the lack of power caused me to pull over and shut it off. We had to be towed 80km into Sydney, NS and sit for 5 days awaiting repairs. At $681/injector I'm glad only one failed.
