Insurance survey - SMB
Just wanted to see what everyone was paying for SMB insurance.
I'm with State Farm in Washington state with a 2007 GMC 2wd pop top worth about $40k. I'm paying $51.12 per month. How about you?

coverage with safeco starts tomorrow. 30k stated coverage for roughly $40-50 a month (50 if paid monthly/40 if paid annually). this is for a 03 4x4 e350 homebuild with a poptop. 100/300k per person/accident.
pretty happy with my new agent. she was able to get me signed up for double my previous coverages, get a stated value for van, and still save me a couple hundred a month on my home and auto policies.
just gotta fire my current insurance company today and it will be finalized

We are paying about $40/month for it as a Ford E150 van even though it is a Sportsmobile camper van with the RIVA emblem on it. Have no idea how the PO got it register as a standard van.

I am currently paying $35/month (if I pay in full annually) with Progressive for my 2004 for $50k collision coverage and $250/500k liability. It's an RV policy. Progressive has it classified as a "Sportsmobile" rather than a Ford E-Series van. I'm also in Washington state. I've had it insured with Progressive since I bought the van in 2004. I'm careful to make sure none of my speeding tickets go on my record, and I've reported no claims on this vehicle.
Yeah, I realize it's not worth $50k anymore. I should adjust this.

I'm pretty certain Progressive realizes that too....
I recently got a stated value policy quote from Progressive and the fine print says something like "stated value or actual value whichever is less"......consider reading the fine print on your policy.

True. In any case I just called Progressive and asked to drop the value to $35k. This reduced my overall premium by about 10%.
For comparison, I took a quick look at the prices being asked for used Sportsmobiles on their website. They seem a little unrealistic to me.

There's a big difference between "Stated Value" and "Agreed Value". If you are expecting to get a predetermined amount in the event of a total loss, you want "Agreed Value". Here's a link that breaks down the different types of coverage.
https://www.lelandwest.com/stated-va...-insurance.cfm
I had to learn about Stated vs. Agreed when I was looking for insurance for my classic truck.

Well, since my wife got side swiped a couple of days ago, down in Cabo, I will be testing out my Progressive MH policy soon. Just need to get the Sportsmobile back up here for repairs.

Wow, hope she wasn't hurt. I'll be very interested in how your claim plays out.

No, just pissed of and a little nervous.
She was alone in Cabo doing some shopping at Costco and Mega - then off the the airport to pick up her two daughters and a long time friend. It was a "Girls Week" and the Todos Santos Music Festival. From the videos I've seen, it was probably better that I wasn't there.
