Re: Is this a record? 1,045 miles...

Since this has turned into more of a love fest thread on the color of your van, I'll join in as well. I use to buy all my vehicles in dark blue and love the color. My van is gray since it is what I found used that was set up the way I wanted. While I miss dark blue, I find that manzaneta pin striping disappears a little better on gray.

You're just up 680 from me a little ways. Let me know if you want to ever go get some dirt on that way too nice of looking van!

Good luck on the repair. It sounds like it should be easily taken care of under warranty.

Phil

Re: Is this a record? 1,045 miles...

I got mine used but had my transmission go out 1200mi after I got it. You know things happen at the worst time. I had to be 1100mi away in 36hours. The Tras Shop across the street from me got it pulled and rebuilt and back in so I could get down the road by 5pm the next day!

Re: Is this a record? 1,045 miles...

UPDATE:
Somehow the emergency brake cable and housing came loose and wrecked a bunch of stuff on one side of the axle...not sure how that happens but that's what they're telling me. He told me its similar to a chain on a tire falling off and wrapping around and ruining everything. This comes shocking as I would think that would be a major deal right when it happens and I noticed nothing until I backed it into the garage. Maybe it only got wrapped when I backed it in and then pulled it back forward the next morning...I don't know.

Both sides are still squabbling over who foots the bill, but I was reassured someone would and that it would all be new parts not refurbished. SMBW is having a rep from their axle shop check it out on Monday since they're saying they don't touch the mounting plate for the e-brake. So meanwhile I get a rental car and it's still dumping in Tahoe.

Thanks for all the comments on the color, definitely knew it would be hard to keep clean but it looks great so I'm stoked.

Phil- lets do it! I'd be interested in hearing what trails you're able to get in and out of.

Good to hear it is not to bad. Hopefully they will fit it first and fight it out over the bill second. I to love the Blue. I am going to paint mine soon and it is between that Blue, the Chevy Rust/Orange, and White.

MY last Ford was that color.
In fact I thought it was my old Last Van.
There has also been a Van that looks just like that running around Jackson Hole for the last week.

Im glad your problem has been handled.

Re: Is this a record? 1,045 miles...

Is there a chance the brake cable got caught up on something while driving in the snow?

I ripped apart my left front ABS wiring last month driving through a muddy field. I didn't remember hitting anything, but I'm sure there were old fence posts buried in the mud, since I was driving along a fence line.
