I just ordered a Stant locking gas cap for my 05 V10 from Auto Barn http://www.autobarn.net/index.html
I noticed they had them for 2007 6.0 diesels but not 08. I paid 12.95 plus shipping.

When I got mine (diesel version) at Pep Boys, the clerk behind the desk looked it up and brought one out. I can't recall the model number off-hand, but it was different than the one off the Stant website. I bought it somewhat reluctantly, but it worked out just fine, so there may be a number of model numbers that will work. I think the packaging listed the other product number as being compatible.

10510 and 11510 Stant are the same. The difference is in the package - BlisterPak vs. Boxed.

I bought a locking cap on eBay (item 160181314981) for my '98 PSD SMB. The nice thing about this one is that you can leave it unlocked and use it like a "normal" cap if you're not worried about where you're parked. It seems like a quality cap, though it was pricier than some of the others mentioned in this thread.

I think I am going to have to order one online somewhere.....

I went back to Autozone, to the shop that supposedly had 3, and they were clueless. They knew what I wanted and said it does not exist.

I went to Peboys and they too were clueless. ...no such animal....

Orielly tried and tried but could not get me one.

Does anyone know definitelvely if the 2007 and 2008 caps are the same?

Like you I tried Autozone and and other national stores without luck. I went to a local parts house, they had one listed for 2007. They let me try it first. It fit perfectly. So yes, a 2007 will fit a 2008.

Greg,

I just bought a cap for my 2008 6.0PSD at Shucks (aka Kragen) and it works perfectly. Stant #11501.

So I had a number of misses with Auto Zone. It seems every one I went to did not have stock of the cap I needed, but they could have one in a few days... maybe.... I kept trying when I was in the area of an Auto Parts store. no luck. I tried Ford, No luck.

Today I asked my wife to call a few Autozones. She was taking the Prius in for a 45k mile checkup, and on her way she needed to pick up some Mobile 1 5W-30.

Guess what she found at he first place she stopped ?

Yep, Stant 10510.

Sheesh, next time I just put her on the job first thing.

We are now the happy owners of a locking fuel cap! (Finally)

Greg glad you...your wife finally scored but are they that difficult to find? I never put mine on and it's sitting in the box with dust on it. Now I have to take it back because I finally got the locking fuel door. It's been so long I forgot what I paid. Maybe I should take to SMB and leave it there.
