Lost my water heater panel

Somehow the removable exterior panel for my water heater flew off between our house and Moab. &^%#$! Anyone know off hand a cheap place to get a replacement?

Your local RV parts place should have one or be able to get one. They are not very expensive.

They aren't painted either.

Maybe I should put a lock on mine.

Re: Lost my water heater panel

We lost ours a week ago too. I found them online for about $45 but I wasn't sure of the model number. I e-mailed Peter at SMB West and found out that they sell them for $26 plus tax and shipping. They will take a credit card (or check). It is the flush mount door, part # 6255APW if you want to try to find them somewhere else. To order from SMB West, call and talk to Kim in billing. They only come in white.

Re: Lost my water heater panel

As a follow-up, I ordered our replacement panel from Kim yesterday after lunch and it arrived this morning. I just left it with our Ford dealer to paint it silver to match our van...$75.

I'm sure that ours fell off and wasn't stolen. If the rubber washer thing gets turned vertical, it would be easy for the door to fall off. I plan to put a split ring (like the split ring key holders) onto that washer so that I won't lose it again in the future. I'd need to remove the split ring whenever I need to open the door but that won't be that often...

Re: Lost my water heater panel

Thanks for the replies! I drove I 70 this morning and found it on the shoulder. It doesn't look pretty so I think I will order a new one.
