My Van is in!
I see that many folks here enjoy the stories of others who are buying a Sportsmobile. So I thought I'd start my journey with this thread. I received an email today from Sportsmobile Fresno saying that my empty van has arrived there from Ford. It is one month earlier than I expected. This may mean that I'll have my rig finished in July instead of August. So, I need to drive to Fresno this week and work out the final details and get the factory tour.
Yahoo!! I'm so very ready for a road trip......

Lucky dogs. I just got an e-mail from Jonathan, and he thought my van wouldn't be in until the end of May. Then add 10 weeks = Mid August. I just can't wait!

Mmmm... at least you guys know you're getting what you want, and relatively when... I'm still waiting for just the right used SMB to come along!

I'm driving to Fresno this Thursday to meet with Greg, the salesperson handling my deal. I have dozens of details to work out and choose, and I'll get a chance to see everything there. My 'Pueblo Gold' deisel van is waiting for me.
Jeremiah, be patient. Finding the right used van doesn't happen fast. There are just so many variations. I ultimately decided to bite the big one and get exactly what I want, but for much bigger bucks. I'm only doing this once, so no time to compromise.

van ready
I second "Lucky Dogs." My E250 won't be in the shop until the middle of next month! But photos help.

Wow!
I was checking out "this guys" photos of his factory tour. On page two (2) in the photo listed "Vans along rear wall of plant" there is a photo of MY 1994 4X4 Ford, silver with yellow stripe! I'm the one with the yakima rocket box on top. That's pretty cool! Great photo package of the Sportsmobile Factory Tour...

Jeffrey,
Good to hear the van is in. It will be ready in no time.
I, too, admired "this guy's" factory pics quite a bit which is why I added a gallery myself HERE. Not as good as his, but I figured it would help others get through the wait (and help the spec their van).
Jeffrey, keep us updated.
Ken
