I watched the slideshow on the first page, and want to get into the rest. Bookmarked your site!

You have some fantastic shots! Love your stuff!

Been here since I was 10 when my parents moved here...that was a many moons ago. I will probably return often, have a daughter and sister here.

Went to Tech, too, for a while, 80-81. We might have passed each other on the Drill Field.

"Misfits with toys". I like that!

Do you have a website or Flickr page or something?

Thanks, and I'd be happy to share. Prepare to be bored.

I quit my crappy job in Dec 2011. Since then, I've been doing freelance work in the marketing industry and really enjoy it. The company that my wife worked for has been trying to sell itself for the last couple years, and this past Fall they finally succeeded. As a result, my wife became "redundant". (Ain't that a boost for one's ego?) But that was a Good Thing. Don't mourn for us!

We both have lived near DC for decades. I can telework from anywhere, and other than our grown daughter, plus my sister & her family, there is not much to keep us here. Weather stinks, prices are high, and the traffic is oh-so-wonderful.

We are taking the opportunity as a time for a life change. Been planning it for a couple years. We will come back to visit family, obviously.

We fell in love with the Southwest in general, having been to AZ, then ABQ for the Balloon Festival in 2010, and UT during the last few years. (I became rather jealous of all those jacked-up Land Cruisers, Lexus LX's and Jeeps that we saw in Moab.) I also lived in NM and NV as a kid, and loved it.

We decided that NM is where we want to be. Since we are photographers, the entire region is camera heaven. We figured that with the right equipment (among those is an SMB) we could use ABQ as a home base and photograph a lot of stuff. If all goes according to plan, we are aiming for a time frame of late summer 2013.

We like Placitas, north ABQ, and Santa Fe areas. At least, that's where we'll be looking to charge the SMB's batteries between photo excursions.

Which begs the question: How many SMB'ers are around Albuquerque/Santa Fe?

Here's one.

-------
Fresno's 1st 2012 Ford van.

RB E350 6.8L V-10 4WD w/Front Air Lockers
PH Top, Kyocera solar with Zamp portable unit

(If we'd bought the winch, we'd make a fortune pulling cars out of the snow.)

Santa Fe is an absolutely beautiful place, but your SMB must be in the Sante Fe architectural style for it to be parked on the street.

Plenty of dirt and mud hereabouts. That's why we call our rig the Adobe Loon. :-)

Good to know! I wonder how much it would cost to add stucco and those little log ends that stick out around the roof?
