New SMB!!

All.
Thanks for the input over the last few months. I finalized a purchase of the 2008 GMC SMB below: (first time I've loaded a photo from tapatalk app)

I am stoked.

It has a few things. I want to add.
Hoop Steps, microwave, awning, front bumper and winch. I planned on having SMB austin do these upgrades but wanted to check on the forum for best approach. Drop some knowledge...

Also, I need to learn about insurance for these things. Anyone know If there is a thread pertaining to insurance?

Lastly, I'll be heading to alaska this summer via Glacier NP, Banff and Jasper NP.

Re: New SMB!!

Congrats on your new rig...looks great and seems to be outfitted pretty from what I can see. Have a good time on tweaking it.

You can read the sticky thread on insurance which might help.

Re: New SMB!!

First, congratulations!

Is that a 4x4, or simply the highest GM van I've ever seen?

Re: New SMB!!

Congratulations on the purchase.

Its a good looking rig. More pictures though!

Sounds like a great trip you have planned. You should drive through the Tetons and Yellowstone on your way to Glacier NP if time allows.

Have fun!

Re: New SMB!!

The van looks great and in great condition. How many miles are on it? Did it have any other options installed on it besides the Quigley? Do plan on upgrading anything or fixing anything? When looking for car mechanics, have you ever been to angieslist.com to look at car mechanic reviews?

Tapatalk won't let me add more than one picture/post so I am adding pics one at a time.

Re: New SMB!!

very cool! Is it a 3500? Solid axle up front, or IFS?

I'm jealous of your trip! Hoping to do a similar route in the next few years.
