New to me Sporty

I have been a long time lurker but the timing was right and I picked up a 2 WD 2003 EB 50 High Top V 10 with 53,000 miles on her.

I flew from Michigan to Long Beach to pick up the van last Thursday. The couple I bought it from met me at the airport and I left with the Van. It was exactly as described.

I made my way across I-70.

and I couldn't drive through Flagstaff and not take a little detour South on the first day of Overland Expo. I parked next to a nicely equiped sporty so my van can see what she will be like after transformation.

Goal of short stop at Expo was to check out some of the rigs, look at wheel and tire combos, and talk to a couple of vendors I am likely to use over the next few months. Met Chris of U-Joint and then layed my hands on all of the aluminess products. I was amazed that many of the more substantial builds on the expedition portal were there. I could have stayed for hours/ days but I had made promises prior to my quick cross country adventure.

Made it back to Michigan on Sunday in the early afternoon. Nine States and 2,470 miles. Hopefully I can do this drive again but take my time.

It was quite the shake down drive. I can't beleive I have waited this long to get a sporty!

"What are your transformation plans"

She is going to head to UJoint for a bit of a makeover.

"4x4"

Yes

Right now my build sheet says Ujoint 6 inch lift with 35's and 4.10 gears. She will look a bit different then.

Yanked the running boards and it looks better already.
