Nissan's entry into the big van market

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/10/niss ... fferent-f/

Looks like Nissan is serious about making an entry into the big van market with a full frame, Titan based model (maybe 4wd is possible then?)

I can't post a pic from work but will do it in the morning when I get home.

Some interesting features for overlanders/builders
comes in a 2500 & 3500 series so you gotta figure 3/4 & 1ton more or less
roof rack mounts built in
no doghouse
upfitter pre-wiring
cargo area interior panel in place and welded nuts for mounts

Re: Nissan's entry into the big van market

It's a tall Ford Expedition. The Titan got great reviews, but seriously that's not a van that's a pickup front box truck. The doghouse is a feature that lets you sit a few feet forward of an otherwise not-van. Too bad. Somebody will love them though.

The big advantage of a van is the extra interior room from moving the driver forward. Not the NV. Just an overgrown SUV.

I don't see it making inroads in the contractor or delivery business.

Re: Nissan's entry into the big van market

It's almost like a panel truck. However, my Nissan Xterra has 147,000 miles on it and has only been in the shop once. This is more than I can say for my 04 Ford that has been in 3 times in 12,000 miles.

Re: Nissan's entry into the big van market

It seems to be only a rear wheel drive model.

Re: Nissan's entry into the big van market

Currently they are rear wheel drive and a gas V8
however there is hope they would add 4wd and a diesel...hope at least.

I am just glad to see anyone coming into the market with something new
