Our Ford Transit build is underway at SMB North
We took our 2015 Ford Transit over to Huntington, IN on May 7 per their request. All they could tell us at that time was that it was in the queue for June. Of course, we assumed June 1 - but it was actually June 19 when they got started. Just checked with Nancy out there and she says they've cut out the windows and are working on the wiring. Then the shocker - it will be about 2-3 weeks to completion. Wow - for some reason, we were assuming it would be 2-3 MONTHS. Glad we were wrong. If she sends any photos, I'll put them in my gallery. Right now, I just have uploaded a pic of our van at the SMB North location on May 1 and a copy of our layout.

Re: Our Ford Transit build is underway at SMB North
Congrats on your new build! 2-3 weeks to build will be nice...leaves you a lot of time to take it out this year.

That's quite fast. Did she mean 2 months? Maybe they can do that if there is no drivetrain mods.

Look forward to seeing progress pics. Is there propane? I didn't notice in the layout.

Re: Our Ford Transit build is underway at SMB North
We just got some photos of our build from SMB North (see my gallery) and had a phone conversation with Dan, the guy doing the work. He still says 2-3 weeks, barring any problems. Our plan is pretty simple, since there's no propane, no A/C, no generator, no sink in the "kitchen". I'm not sure there would even be room for much of that additional equipment anyhow - this is the RB model.

Re: Our Ford Transit build is underway at SMB North
We just got some new progress photos from SMB North - see gallery. Looks like the windows, walls and ceiling fans are done. Nancy says they are starting to build the couch and cabinet, so things seem to be progressing. Hopefully more info/photos soon!

So what's the clear hose behind the driver's seat if not for a sink?

Re: Our Ford Transit build is underway at SMB North
The inside space on the transit looks great - looks like you will get a lot of usable space in a nice size rig with those near vertical walls.
As for the awning, you might consider mounting one off of a roof rack if you are thinking about putting that on anyway. Otherwise, I would think you could find someone to fabricate some brackets that would work.
Looking forward to seeing more progress photos along the way!

Re: Our Ford Transit build is underway at SMB North
Now we're sort of concerned that the windows in the back are too high to see out of while sitting on the couch. We were limited to the smaller sized windows with the Transit, but never thought about where they would be within the frame. Hopefully they left enough room above them to put in the overhead bins.
And rallypanam asked what's the clear hose behind the driver's seat if not for a sink - yes, there is a corner sink in the bathroom. We thought the corner would be a little closer to the driver's seat, but I guess we'll see how it all comes out.
Hopefully more photos soon.
