Overland Experts driving school - Newbie to foru

New to the forum. Have lusted after 4x4 SMB for several decades, finally have ordered Sprinter 4x4 to be delivered next spring.
Have only 4x4 experience in snow so decided to go to school. Figured that for a vehicle this expensive, I need to know a lot more.- how to drive 4x4 truly off-road, read the trail, and recovery techniqes. Attended Overland Experts in NC (Instructor = Tony, very excellent) for three days last weekend. Wow.

Learned a LOT about 4x4 mechanical systems, practiced and drove several vehicles over lots of very challenging terrain, setup and performed recovery techniques with various equipment and lots more.

Though I doubt that I'll be taking the Sprinter to terrain remotely as technical as what I drove this weekend, the experience was worth every minute and every penny. It surely will save us thousands of dollars as we kit out the Sprinter with various options and equipment. And my anxiety level as we drive off the highway will be negligible.

Am thinking about taking the Sprinter back to OEX NC before going off cross country to test how it handles in conrtrolled rough terrain. Happy trails!
