Paying Out of State Taxes

Has anyone bought their van in the State of IL and had their conversion done in CA? Did you pay CA taxes or have Sportsmobile drive it to Reno. Or pay IL taxes when you registered as a class B RV? Can you keep B truck plates on the van or do you have to get RV plates? Thanks for the info

I know some guys have had their SMB-CA work sub-contracted through QuadVan to avoid sales tax.

An option to avoid sales tax is to have Van Specialties in Portland, OR do the conversion.

Is there an advantage to registering as an RV over a truck?
