Pleasure-Way Traverse?

Anyone in Southern CA have one? Anyone know anyone who has one in SoCal? We'd like to check one out and there are none currently for sale in SoCal, new or used that I can find.

I ask b/c we are considering getting one and having Quadvan do a 4x4 conversion. Anyone have any input as to whether this is a good idea or a bad one? Rationale: this route is quite a bit cheaper than a SMB, and the PW bench seat includes LATCH system for child car seats, while the SMB does not. Ha ha, no seriously... but if you buy one you have to come back and tell us your thoughts because nobody ever does that.

The obvious things I think would be that the Pleasureway has moulding that robs you of several inches of clearance, opposing the advantage of a lift from the Quigley. I would look closely under the van for hangy bits- that the the SMB is a tank under there or anything, but most stuff is more or less tucked up to some extent.

Second is the slopey pop top. The SMB top has the same clearance all around and better windows, also all around. I'm not sure what the advantages are to the slope (less airspace to heat?) but it looks like it will fit some kids which is my future purpose for the PH so I guess it depends on what you're doing.

Otherwise it is probably down to fit, finish and price.

You should look into the Tiger too. It's not a van but I think it might be comparable. There is an old thread about alternatives somewhere.

Thanks Jage. Eddie Percic at Quadvan tells me that they currently have on in their shop being converted to 4x4. I will ask him about clearance, and see if he can send me a pic of the underside.
