Re: Pocatello V10-repair report

Hmmm, that's pretty low miles to need tranny fluid IMO. It does have a receiver hitch too. I wonder what it's towed and whether the tranny has been overheated. I would be particularly careful if I bought it. Get yourself a $100 Scanguage II which will give you real time trans fluid temp and watch it from now on. I absolutely love that feature of the scanguage, since trans fluid temp is about the most important one to pay attention to.

Good luck!

Re: Pocatello V10-repair report

Thanks, 86! (Makes me think of Get Smart. )

I'm pretty sure it needed the fluid because they had to take something off / empty it to do the repair - but I know diddly about this stuff so that could be entirely wrong, too.

Dia,

So, you're going to let this one go? I've been following this thread and have kinda lost track of your original goal .. you're looking for a V10 passenger van? RB or EB? 2WD or 4WD?

Re: Pocatello V10-repair report

At the moment, we're letting this one go. It's a great match for what we want, but the timing is inconvenient financially. We *could* do it, but hubs would feel better if we waited another two months.

The holy grail for us is a 2008 or newer 2WD V10 EB passenger for about $14,000. We'll have a CCV poptop put on it and build out the interior ourselves. This one is almost perfect. Yeah, power locks/windows/mirrors would be nice, and a limited slip axle, but none of that is a deal-breaker, especially for the price.

If hubs comes back from the campout and says we're back on, I'd still grab this one but at the moment, he's saying wait.
