Hi John,

Curious, did you get a top cover that customly fits for vans, or are you using the ever versatile blue poly tarp that has to tied down?

a blue poly tarp >>

Thanks for the reply.

Re: Pop-Top Canvas: Mold & Condensation: How to Amend Problem?

Hi

Yesterday, Friday, I read a posting in response to my query about further fortifying my PH top against leaks if I should spray or brushed on sealant all over it, and someone replied recommending this action and provided a brand/type for a sealant to use.

However, this reply was removed. Was this a bad recommendation?

If it was not a bad recommendation, then does anybody have a sealant suggestion?

Thanks for everyone's responses!

If you use the search, and search roof coatings, you will find lots of peoples opinions.

Bad recommendations are not removed from the site. In fact people are even allowed to recommend floor plans OTHER than the "50", however ill advised it may be.

But no, seriously, opinions shouldn't get deleted. Perhaps it was a private message or another thread?

As far as the coating all my problems are concurrent with a coating over the section of top that leaked most, and my information is the previous owner had SMB pay for a partial coating to try to fix the leak (whether or not it worked temporarily who knows). The coating actually made for a more difficult fix because the right hardware doesn't quite fit anymore.

Re: Pop-Top Canvas: Mold & Condensation: How to Amend Problem?

We purchased our cover from Sportsmobile West and it is a very good quality cover although it is sized for a EB Ford van minus solar panels and bumpers so the fit is a little tighter than I would like. We paid about $500 for ours. I know you are thinking "that would buy a lot of blue tarps" but when you are talking about a vehicle that cost south of six figures $500 for a good cover is money well spent. If I were to do it again I would probably by one of the high end covers from Camping World. They run about $250 and they are "supposed" to be made to the measurements of your RV.
