Raising Penthouse Top

My wife and daughter cannot raise the penthouse top without assistance, does anyone have an idea (inexpensive) on assisting the raising process? Maybe some sort of jack?

Adjust the penthouse springs..absolutely free......

Where are you located?

Does the top come down easier than it goes up?? Do you have solar panels, boxs, etc on the roof??

SMB sold a top raising gizmo years ago that you stashed under the gaucho.....but I think that was discontinued years ago.

LenS has two solutions the first using an electric drill and the second uses a hand crank.

Just curious but what's that little upgrade conversion cost? Almost the price of a new penthouse?

I though Aluminess also had a gizmo of some sort to lift the roof but couldn't find it on their website. Might be worth asking though.

Your right, 3800. im also trying to redo canvas even though it looks new but I always wanted black. I also am asking them to install back window like the one in front. would be great to have complete cross winds and b able to wake up in the morning and look out the back

Boywonder -

How difficult/involved is it to adjust the springs? I recently added a rack and new panel. The added weight makes it a two person job to lift the top.

Thanks.

Dusty you can listen to who ever you want,but.... if the voice of experience
means anything to you, here goes. Been there,Done that. Adjusting the springs
WON'T help. Got rid of my first SMB cause of it. My friends that bought it had a problem to. Aluminess has a air actuated device that will bring it up and down
EASY. They use it,works great. $280

Good luck and Happy Campin
