Question Replace or Fix Propane Compartment Door

I have a Sportsmobile 2001 Ford EB 250.

I wish to replace or fix the outside Propane Compartment Door because the piano hinge no longer moves due to rust.

I have removed and tried soaking this compartment door in Blaster Penetrant, but it is still stuck:
https://www.amazon.com/Blaster-16-PB.../dp/B000I2079E

I have found on parts a replacement propane compartment door on sportsmobilestore.com, but it is unfinished metal and without seals nor trim:
https://www.sportsmobilestore.com/pr...nt-door-metal/

Is there a recommended alternative supplier that could provide a good condition finished door (white)?

Or is there another recommended way for loosening a rusted piano hinge on a propane compartment door?

Thank you

Mine came unpainted from SMB, but it did have the seals, trim, and latch.

Question

I appreciate your reply

The Sportsmobile site did not make it clear about having all the extra stuff such as the seals, trim, and latch.

How did you have the propane compartment door painted? At a shop or by yourself with a spray can? And if by yourself, was there any recommended pre-coating and/or paint you used?

Thank you

I think I have a extra brand new door from SMB lying around in my garage.. I'll look tonight and will be happy to get rid of it at a discount.

P.S. And as for your painting.. two options. Rattle can in your garage, or bring to a paint shop and ask them to spray it in an exact match to your paint code. Shouldn't be too expensive.

I had my replacement door from Sportsmobile powder coated. Mine is white and it was an easy color match.

So I do have a brand new door, but don't have the seal.. but you can get one at McMaster-Carr. Make an offer if you want it.

I believe the Sportsmobile store website is SMBw only. You may want to check with the two other sites as well for the seals and trim.

Replace Propane Compartment Door

We have a 1997 Ford Econoline SMB and I’m also looking to replace our 17”x8” propane compartment door. It still works but is rusting through. The link in this thread isn’t working for parts. Anyone have any idea where I can find one? Appreciate any ideas.

Probably not very difficult for a reputable Welding or Sheetmetal fabrication shop to make a new one for you.
You may also try a search for "MARINE BOAT DECK ACCESS HATCH", there are a number that come pretty close to the size you're looking for....its a start anyway.

EDIT: I found a company a while back when I was searching for something - these are access doors for RV's:
