shower outlet control

Has anyone taken apart the shower control unit?
Mine appears clogged. When turned to "hot" the volume of water goes way down to almost nothing so no hot water despite it being in the line leading up to outlet. Cold works great.
Had same issue year ago and replaced it.

thoughts?

Re: shower outlet control

Mineral buildup? Try soaking in vinegar or CLR

Re: shower outlet control

found the problem.
When I winterized last fall I drained the lines back to the shower and even ran some anti freeze into the tanks, sink, etc.... one thing I did not do is run anti freeze "thru" the shower outlet controller and wand. That brass shower outlet seals up when you remove the hose and there must have been a little water inside that brass valve assembly that froze and pushed out hot water gasket.

operator error!
