side couch to captains chairs?

I'm looking for a van. I have found one I like, but it has a side facing couch. I have 2 kids and want something forward facing. Could I remove the bench and replace with captains chairs? Hard to tell from the pictures, but here is a link to the pics available

Main problem you will run into is there is probably a bunch of "stuff" under there like a water tank, furnace, etc. So you could retrofit in two chairs there in a line, but they would need to straddle the water tank and other items.

What about this one? With your budget, you can still add 4x4 and be under your price. Plus, this dude is dreaming with his price. I know he paid $21k for it because he bought it from my brother in law.

Why would they have it on the market, and then add a solar panel and convert the existing PH to electric? Strange.

Know going in, the side gaucho likely has all kinds of equipment underneath that you would have to relocate if you tore it out and added Captains seats. Stuff like electrical panels, fresh water tank wouldn't surprise me, possibly an inverter,... the list goes on.

If nothing else though it has a "ComeUp Wench"

[EDIT: I was typing as Gramps was posting]

If you remove the gaucho, were you planning on having the two captains in line or were you planning on removing some of the cabinets behind the passenger seat to allow for two side by side?

Either way, with that layout, you would be eliminating the downstairs bed so it would only sleep 2. You would be better off finding a 50 layout or something with rear captains and a dinette/bed so you can still sleep 4 (27 layout)

Yes. This is exactly what I realized as I was thinking it through. Waiting sucks.....
