Our 4WD SMB has a lot more ground clearance than typical 4WD SUVs and pickups so I've never worried about having skid plates. When in doubt, my wife is an excellent spotter!

Some mostly negative feedback in this thread but mainly related to transmission pan cooling. http://www.sportsmobileforum.com/for...ates-4609.html

My two cents is if you need skid plates any passengers in the van are not having much fun.

Most folks don't run them on vans but I think Ujoint offers some. I have seen some custom ones on the rear of EB vans to protect water tanks, underfloor boxes, air compressors etc. I don't think they're very necessary on most vans though for all reasons above.

Thanks for all the input. I was a bit nervous about being so exposed on the underside. I feel much better about heading out into challenging terrain now that I know how you'll are rolling.

Ramsey, The first thing we did upon our arrival into CA last year was to have your RIP kit and additional springs installed. Unfortunately, we did not get to meet as you were in Baja. We did meet John, who did a super install. Just want to say Thanks for a great product.
