Sliding step

I have a 2010 Chevy EB with the fiberglass running boards. Getting into the van is no problem but egress can be a issue. Because of the way the body curves it covers 2-3 inches of the step when you are going out. This necessitates trying to place your heel or turning your foot sideways, either way leaves you little to step on.

My simple fix is to permanently attach a nicely fitted board of about 8-9 inches width. This would extend past the running board by about 2 1/2 inches. My wife said I would hit it on something. I told her only if I ripped off the side view mirror first. Ahhhhh, marriage.

Anyhow, does anyone make a sliding step mechanism that extends when the door opens like the larger RVs? THANKS

Re: Sliding step

Amp step is one SMB has used before. Rock slide engineering steps are for off road use mainly.

Re: Sliding step

Thanks. Which SMB site has used these. I got mine from Texas and I know all the sites are a little different.

I would think most RV shops can install them as well as any SMB location. You can always call and ask. Amp steps are commonly used on pickups but I have seen several vans at SMB west with them.
