SMB "recalls" or anything of the sort?

From my experience with the leaky PH due to the wrong hardware, and having witnessed a conversation between Peter and Paul that convinced me they knew exactly what the problem was (as in it happened to a number of production vans significant they'd seen it before), I've always wondered if they KNEW bad hardware was used in some van, or might have been used, wouldn't they or why didn't they contact the owners?

Since it's been mentioned that yokes with the incorrect number of splines might have been used in some vans:

I'm wondering if anyone has ever been contacted by SMB with this sort of information proactively (as opposed to waiting until the customer discovers the problem and either fixes it or brings it back). We're hardly an exhaustive community of owners, but I'd still like to hear from anyone who has been contacted by SMB with known build issues that might cause problems....
