So here I sit, in Austin far away from Boston
I don't even live in Boston but it sounded good. Waiting to see the guys at SMB TX in the AM about a pretty little Ford I have had my eyes on for a couple of weeks. Had passed on "50"s holding out for a walk-through design until I got to thinking about it. The large open area of the 50 should work for our situation but time will tell and as some have said, you need a 3rd one to know what you really want.
Been searching for over a year so this is the real deal. One way ticket to Austin and hope this one is the "one" for us. I will find that out Monday the 25th and drive it back to Durango on the 26th. I brought down a sheet, blanket and pillow in my carry-on and that should do it for 2 days. I'll hit Walmart parking lots if I need to sleep on the way home unless something else appears on the maps.
Here we go but I have read so much in the last year, I can't remember shit about what I should do to the van. 6L with only 12k miles. How bad can it be???

When I drove ours from Georgia to Oregon I stayed at state parks and truck stops. Hope the van is what you are looking for. Have a safe journey home.

Right on! If your main concern is the 6.0, get the egr done and put the hammer down. You'll either end up loving it or it'll latch on to your bank account and not let go. Only one way to find out....

Good luck! Download the 'Ultimate Public Campground Finder' app on your phone. It will put you on lots of dispersed (free) camping in places you never thought of. Might as well stay at some enjoyable places on your trip!

I plan on the BPD oil cooler along with the BPD EGR cooler and will put the stop on the wallet - at least for the time being.

Well, we spent 24 days on the road this summer, stayed with family 4 of them and used this app to find off-the-beaten-path places the whole rest of the trip. I think we spent $20 total on lodging. It's worth it to me!

Congrats on new toy and best for safe trip home!
Interstate rest stops are normally good for 8 hour/overnight stays. They are typically much quieter than a truck stop. Pop the top and rest before you need it 😊.

Just did the same thing last month. Get off the interstate and drive 87 and 385 up. Beautiful two lane. Cool hill country. Small towns. Ask if they have extra stuff if the van needs it. They are moving to a new shop. I picked up a slightly used Aluminess rear bumper for cheap.
