that's a great idea. thanks for sharing! now im wondering how I could incorporate that idea under the van since I don't have a roof rack...maybe a snatchbolck hanging off the rain gutter??
I always wondered how folks that keep their spare up on the roof racks on these lifted vans got them up and down. I can barely get mine back on the aluminess holder. in fact, it was such a pita that when I converted from 8x165 to 8x170 I made a new plate adapter that allows the weight of the tire to rest on the bumper instead of the tire holder. makes it a ton easier to line up the lug studs with it resting on bumper instead of me having to hold it up and line the lugs up at the same time. another added benefit is now the bolts stay tighter longer and the tire doesn't flop around like it used to before. I also incorporated a way to lock the spare to the van so I don't have to worry about my expensive tire/rim combo growing legs and disappearing
