Sportsmobile Bling Bling

Well I could'nt resist the urge to add a little "bling bling" to my SMB. I had the cab headliner out to add a CB antennae and decided to add some LED cab clearance lights. Guess it's just the redneck in me coming out!

What are those steps? Is that SMB option or aftermarket?

I got the steps at SEMA last year. They are aluminium and very light. They fold up and fit in the recessed step inside the door when traveling or can be left on the outside. I made 2 brackets that are welded to the rocker panel with a pair of quick release pins. They are not practical really for stop and go type stuff as each time you need to release the lock clip and fold them out (if they are left on the outside of the van). However they are very nice when camping. Entry and exit is very easy for my girls (8 and 10 yrs.). The steps can be left on and the doors closed at night. Tomorrow I'll get a pix of them in the folded up position.

Guess we'll see you coming!!

If you want something unique for your E-series, adapt the 2003 (maybe other years also) trailer tow mirrors from the F-series. They have the integrated clearance lights and turn signals built in. I think someone on TheDieselStop.com posted instructions on how they did it.

I looked around in the e-series portion of the site a little and couldn't find these. Do you remember where it was on TDS that you saw it?
