Forum Members:
I know several of the forum members own SPOT Satellite Messenger Units.
I received notification today that they are doing a "voluntary" replacement for certain units. The affected units are the SPOT 2 (the smaller/newer ones).
Apparently the messaging and battery capabilities are not within spec so they are replacing the affected units.
Below you will find the exact verbiage from the email they sent me. Again, they stressed that it only affects the smaller, SPOT 2 devices.
For my part, I'm returning mine since the whole purpose of buying the thing was for the "Oh SH@#&" button and if that doesn't work then its just more weight in the pack (unless I can eat it).
Good luck to all.
