Still stuck in Bishop
We have been here for 3 weeks because the shop cannot find an axle. I am in Bishop, CA looking for an axle shaft for my "03 Ford E350 Superduty full floating rear diff. The shaft that broke is on the left side, has 30 splines and goes with the Truetrac carrier. Apparently the Yukon shafts are on back order. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you sure you are looking for 30 spline shafts? Seems odd, my rear dana 60 full float with truetrac required 35 spline shafts. I do remember this because old OEM shafts were 32 spline.

Yeah. 35 spline is what's easily available.
Do you drive around all night trying to find the last 30-pin iphone cable in existence? Or suck it up an find a modern phone finally?
30-spline will be a custom job, so besides the lead time, it means lack of parts if anything happens again later. Yeah, changing the whole thing to 35-spline is more $ initially, but the tru trac coming out could probably be re-sold to cover some of it at least.

It seems like some of us could use some enlightenment....
So stock is 32 spline for both semi and FF? ......and True Trak is custom 30 spline? and an upgrade is 35 spline? If I remember correctly the 35 spline is also a larger dia axle?
...now I'm curious....
CarringB: Can you summarize what's what for future readers?

32-spline is the factory axle shaft for the full float.
35 spline is stock for the semi-float axles, at least since RSC was introduced. I'm not sure about pre-RSC semi-floats.
Tru-Track is available in 30 and 35 spline versions. I have no idea what uses a factory 30-spline Dana 60, but somebody must? The weird thing is the lack of available axle shafts, so I can only guess that whatever uses a 30-spline is either narrower, or has completely different hubs.

Getting stuck like that sucks. But, if you are going to be stuck somewhere, it could be worse than Bishop.
Nice golf course, casino, downtown. Close to Mammoth.
I'm seriously considering retiring there when my time comes.
Anyway, best of luck.

Also, The Burger Barn and Mountain Rambler Brewery.
Not a bad place to be stuck.......not bad at all.
