Installing the molding with the seam center top seems to be less visible as it shrinks and you compress it so it stays in the corners.....It will always shrink, and always pull from the corners over time.......As mentioned, replacement or splicing in a piece from another location are good options if the gap is annoying...

Well I didn't need the porn. For the galley drawer T molding I put the molding in boiling hot water, clipped away some more of the T insert at the corners, applied Seal All adhesive in the slot in the MDF, pressed the trim in while stretching it, and drove a couple of bronze ring shank boat nails in on either side of the joint. I put a Pony strap clamp around the perimeter of the drawer face and left it over night. It seems to be well adhered all the way around with only a slight gap where the trim joins.
Seal All adhesive is readily available at auto parts stores.
