Re: Transporting a Sportsmobile to Fresno and Back (Denver)
Most likely you are going to be dealing with a broker, not the actual shipper. Depending on what deal you cut with the broker, they bid out the shipment. There are some limits on who they use, but there is usually no telling who is going to be driving your SMB. I have shipped cars a fair amount (though not SMBs), and have had few problems, but I have also heard a horror story of someone's car that got lost for a while. FWIW, I have had good luck with:
Malia McClain
DOMESTIC AUTO TRANSPORT
Vice President of Sales
800-516-5044
360-834-6013
Malia is great to work with and was very supportive (though could not ultimately fix the problem) when a shipper lost the keys to my car for a while. Literally as a back-up set were arriving by Fedex they found the other set. Tell her Walter from Baltimore referred you, if you call.
Best of luck.

Re: Transporting a Sportsmobile to Fresno and Back (Denver)
McNutt was the best*** out of everybody I talked too, and although the woman I worked with originally is no longer there, I called about 3 PM today and the van is already on the road. The timing worked out and the guy who picked it up was good, so I'm going to request him (Jack Nielsen) on the way back since he runs Cali to Denver a lot.
Here's my ride:
Loaded:
I got a departure vid, but it's all black since it was 6:40 when he left.
***EDITED: McNutt's contractor drove the van 1640 miles on the return trip instead of bringing it on a trailer.

Re: Transporting a Sportsmobile to Fresno and Back (Denver)
Watching your van go away on a transport has to be as scary as having it quit on a trip. At least it isn't as unexpected and traumatic when it is planned.
Good luck with the ordeal.

Good luck with everything. I'm guessing you don't want to hear about any green, EB SMB's four wheeling through Moab later this week.

An SMB is a lot like a baby, everything takes a long time.
