What did you do to your Pop-Top today?

The pop-top is a pricey investment, so are there any tips on how to make the thing last?
I have a white pop-top and the fiberglass needs to be waxed--often!
If not, it can get ugly real fast!
What wax types are best for the fiberglass pop-top?
I know that SMB paints a textured (with color added) coating on pop-tops, so how good is it?
Textured pop-top roofs don't need much up keep, true?

What did (or do) you do to your pop-top?

Peace,

Zugg

Zugg,

I have the textured top, and I don't think it can be waxed. I just get up there with a hose and blast it. Two years old and no cracks or problems yet...

I think Mike 6.0 showed me this site and I thought he used it.
http://www.poliglow-int.com/

If I use it I'll put it on this winter. I like the stuff Jeffery has though and might have SMB spray that on.
Dave.

I'm not sure I believe that the textured paint is better than the smooth gloss. It would be easier to clean the smooth, and less crap would collect and remain.

Dave.
Sounded promising, but then noticed it's intended for gel coats, which I think are only the white PH tops. I think the other color PH tops are painted.

So, let us know how it works for you Dave, but I guess it's wax-on, wax-off for me.

Dave.
I used the Poli-Glow on both the pop-top and my RC Trailer. It seems to work well and last quite awhile. But, as Herb said, it is only for use on gelcoat, so if your top has been painted, it is wax for you.

Re: What did you do to your Pop-Top today?

Thanks for the good replies so far.

So if the pop-top gets cracked, it will not be seen with the textured paint job.
Does anyone have a cracked pop-top with the textured paint job?
How would that be repaired?

The fiberglass pop-top will show cracks and I am looking for them, every time I wax on, wax off.

Has anyone glued solar pannels to the textured paint job on a pop-top?

Peace,

Zugg
