Hog ring. Uses a special pliers to bend the ends over to close the loop. You find the rings in upholstered furniture and fencing, that sort of thing. I used them in a gabion wall to hold the metal mesh cages to each other.

Looks like a hog ring fastener, typically used in vehicle upholstery (seats).

Uh oh. That’s the critical piece of hardware that keeps the entire PH roof from blowing off at highway speeds. You need to find where that came from ASAP!! (Ok, I’m joking...)

Agree with the hog ring, but no idea why it be up in your PH top.

That's the smaller type, used in upholstery, typically seats, wraping foam, holding the covers on, that sort of thing. Maybe used to fasten part of the poptop together? Either way, it's an unused one (in use they get crimped closed with hog ring pliers) I've used thousands of those while I had my home based VW seat upholstery business, back in the 90's. Nothing to worry about, just toss it in the trash.

Thanks.

Add it to the list of things that fall from the SMB sky on washboard. Better than the mice droppings at least....
