What jerry cans to use

Ok, so now that I have that fancy new bumper with the gas can carrier what kind of gas and water cans should I get. I have the standard Aluminess gas can rack. Looks like it will hold four cans.

Scepter...... military style and grade.... but you have to find them....

If you find a source, let me know, because I want some more.

Yeah, good luck with finding scepter cans. They only sell to military now and they have to be CARB approved to ship to CA * (no such animal).

I just use NOS NATO cans from the local Army surplus store. They work great and seal better than any plastic can ever would. Craig if you want the name of the place email me back channel.

Craig,

I own a 20L (5 gal) Wedco water can with spout, and a 10L Wedco gas can (don't tell CARB). Very high quality, though fairly heavy especially when full.

My recommendation would be to skip the spout since holding a 20L can full of fuel and trying to pour the fuel into a fuel tank is an act of gymnastics and weight-lifting all at once. Get the Super Siphon. As a matter of fact, get at least two, one for fuel and one for water.

Herb

P.S. I will say the Wedco can that I have is a little taller than a Blitz can for instance, so I'm not sure if you might have clearance issues. You can always test fit my Wedco water can assuming it's the same dimensions.

I second the super syphon. Works flawlessly. Been carrying one for water and one for fuel for years now.

According to their website, Expedition Exchange is out of stock on water and diesel cans, but seem to have stock of the gas cans.

Craig, bring cash and tell them you're visiting from out of state if you want to try to get non-CARB cans. Not that I'd recommend that of course...

Here's how the PO used the tray on mine:

I usually just throw a cooler in there.
