I contacted Sportsmobile West for a replacement gearbox and they [also] quoted me about $95. I am not ready to fork out that much yet so will keep researching.

Replaced entire pump head unit with replacement part found at local Camping World store... it is meant to work on any 2088 model. It did fit perfectly and fixed the issue!

I did hear back quickly...

Checked power throughout the system and determined all was good up to the terminals on the pump.

Upon jiggling around the connections at the pump, it made it sputter and then start...

Thanks for the hint Herb. Pretty sure I had tried something similar in the course of my futzing around with it, but I tried that again last night. Of course, the pump/faucet did not even come on...

I installed the same panel in the same orientation as you are thinking and it has come out/worked nicely. I basically bought a tilt mount that i then mounted directly to the Thule...

That depends how tall you are (or are not!). :a1: The SMB poptop adds 2" to the stock interior height of the standard top sprinter van so if you are 69 inches or less, you can stand completely...
