The problem with the Fords is the torque converter. A worn converter generates the heat that kills the rest of the tranny. Pulling a load at high RPM up a grade kills the converter but what's worse...

Under a shelf I used two screws that stick out about an inch. The center rafter slides over the screws just like it does on the awning pins. I pull it tight and tighten the thumbscrew so it's solid....

Common way to do it is to ask what fits or to take a suspension company's word for it. It just does not work that way. An articulation ramp, a keen eye and some real work like you did is the only way...

If your rig drives OK without swaybars then I bet your spring rate is too high. Remove a leaf or two from the packs. You don't even have to remove the whole spring from the van to swap leafs around.

Gas engines should not be run low either. The fuel return line returns hot fuel and the pump needs cool fuel to keep it cool. Running it almost out all the time shortens the intank fuel pump life.
